Professionally, I go by Rebecca Anne Bloom, but most people call me Bec.
My life has been a bunch of surreal adventures that has lead me here. Education wise, I have two degrees in Forensic Psychology & Community Development and Policy Studies. But after being a research assistant for a couple years, I realized that wasn’t the field I wanted to be in. So when the opportunity came to travel, I took it – working in the US as a tour director. When that job concluded, I worked in marketing and returned to theatre, both as an actor and as a headshot photographer. My soul felt revived and I decided to focus on my true love, the creative industry. Since then, I’ve become the General Manager of Globus Theatre at the LAB in Bobcaygeon, a digital content creator and a professional actor.
I only considered my photography as more than just a hobby about a year before the pandemic, but when I was laid off from my job I said to myself, “it’s now or never Bec.” It’s a decision I haven’t regretted, as I’ve met and photographed wonderful people throughout the Kawartha Lakes, worked for the Lindsay + District Chamber of Commerce and even the Lindsay Exhibition. I shoot with the goal in mind to capture your true essence, and edit only what will enhance the overall vision.
It’s common for people to want to brand themselves as something in particular. But as a photographer, artist, actor, and writer, I simply strive to find a way to use creative mediums to capture the magical and candid moments of life and humanity. If you’ve made it this far, then I think we’ll get along just fine. I hope to meet you soon ♡
